Build a Rubber Band Car explaining the principles of Kinetic Energy
You input potential (stored) energy into the rubber band system when you stretch the rubber band back. Because it is an elastic system, this kind of potential energy is specifically called elastic potential energy. The more you twist the rubber band around the axle, the more potential energy you build up. When you let go, the rubber band snaps back to its original form, spinning the axle in the process. The potential energy in the stretched band was converted into kinetic energy propelling the car forward!
